A revised version: Less ridiculously saturated colors (though that was mostly the fault of the print), less intense shadows to expose more detail in the face, plus some additional background imagery and more ideal cropping so as to enhance idea of scale.

Some creepy ass aquatic life
So here's the evolution of my project over the last half a week or so:
After searching through pictures of deep-sea fish as references for biological anomalies/relatively unknown species of life that scare the hell out of us, I sketched a few things. This is the one that was easily the most potent example, the Giant Grenadier:

I liked it, so I decided to start modeling it and run from there with it.
